The autumn time is reminiscent of passing. It is during autumn that we remember our deceased relatives, but also say goodbye to summer with its rich crops. After the summer outdoor activities, the first chills and rains of autumn encourage us to stay inside, at home, under a warm blanket, with hot tea in hand. Also at this time of the year, we can especially appreciate the beauty in the endings, or, in some way, death, which serves to replace the old with something new. Jonna Jinton has created a particularly inspiring video about this (here ), of course I highly recommend all her beautiful films and works of art.
The idea of darkness, thanks to which we can appreciate the light, as well as the space that makes up the house between its walls, has fascinated me invariably for a long time. A great form of meditation is listening to the space between sounds or observing the space around the physical things that surround us. When we are aware of this "nothingness", our mind stands still. We simply are, we blend into silence and air, we become a part of them. Perhaps this is one of the most powerful meditation techniques - even while reading this post, I recommend that you notice the gaps between words, between thoughts. What would the words be without them? Would they even exist?
We can ask the same question about good and evil, light and dark, poverty and abundance. In my opinion, we are here on Earth to experience this bipolarity of life, also known as duality. In Eastern culture, these two sides are called yin and yang, and given the symbol ☯︎. In nature there is no yin without yang, and no yang without yin. Like the two sides of a coin, they are essentially one and the same, from a different perspective. And this perspective, as it's also taught in Ayurveda, changes cyclically - it flows like a wave, orbits like the Moon around the Earth.
Therefore, when something goes wrong in your life, e.g. you lose your job or someone close to you leaves, look at it from a different perspective. Think of it as the fall after the summer. If something comes to an end, it is only to rest for a while and allow to create something anew. The tree is not afraid to shed its leaves, because it trusts that it will bloom again in the spring, even more beautiful, stronger and wiser than before. If we are part of Nature and we want to live in harmony with her, we are left with the conviction that everything is happening exactly as it should.
