Skin is the largest organ of absorption and excretion in humans. When we have a problem with other organs, e.g. the intestines or liver, or more energetically - we block our emotions from flowing, it's the skin that will tell us about it in the form of redness, rash or acne. If you think about it carefully, you can easily start to doubt virtually the entire modern cosmetics industry... Because would you eat the cream or foundation you use on your face? 🧐 Which ingredient would you not eat and why? What happens to this ingredient when you apply it to your skin? It's not likely to disappear. In most cases it will need to be processed and (ideally) excreted by the body.
I've been interested in this topic for many years due to owning an atopic skin and having undergone a long and rather horrendous withdrawal from steroid ointments and other pharmaceuticals. Over the last few years, I have greatly simplified my skincare and minimized the amount of cosmetics I use, periodically giving them up completely to allow my skin to regain its proper function. Lately I have been using edible oils, essential oils and pure hyaluronic acid, but more recently I came to the conclusion that my skin needs something extra. Protection without the feeling of covering, suffocating or clogged skin pores, which I sometimes experienced with heavier oils. Helping skin that has not yet found its way to its healthiest expression. Part of it is my work with emotions, but when I discovered Trawiaste cosmetics, I immediately thought this was my missing link.
First of all, I would like to praise the celebration of naturalness and being your imperfect self. Secondly, the very aligned with my way of thinking "less is more" and the notion that the ultimate goal is to use less and less cosmetics as the time passes by! Their task is to remind the skin how to protect itself, nourish and regenerate it, so that after some time it can perform these functions for us without their help. I haven't heard anything like that from a cosmetics company before. I think that's where the genius of Trawiaste lies. Here I would like to thank the founders, beautiful Laura and her husband, for presenting this unusual but very valuable perspective with their brand. 🙏 Of course, last and very important – the ingredients of their cosmetics are edible. Only plant-based, absolutely no chemicals, very concentrated and very Polish! Let me warn you right away - this brand is not cheap (for Polish standards at least!), but after trying several cosmetics, I dare say that they are worth the price and very efficient. Additionally, they smell amazing (unless you don't like forest or herbal scents), and their glass bottles look unique and beautiful.
Their offer includes many different types of herbal creams (you can order 3 samples!), but also washing gels, shampoos, scrubs, toothpastes, cream foundations with healing properties, and a super-innovative beetroot lipstick! 💗 Their ingredient lists contain the true wealth of Nature - for me especially worth noting are the tree buds and resins, e.g. spruce, or the more exotic dark red "dragon's blood" from the Croton Lechleri tree.
I didn't think I would ever recommend any cosmetics on this blog apart from simple oils, but life can be surprising. You can find the website of the Trawiaste store right HERE, and if I manage to get a promotional code, I will let you know immediately. 😊
