Have you ever wondered what true health means to you? What does it mean to be mentally and physically healthy? I have the impression that most people are not fully aware of their beliefs on this subject, and therefore accept the state of affairs of a much lower standard than would be logical.
Unfortunately, in the era of chronic diseases, various anxiety states and drug addiction (even painkillers), we often have a distorted concept of health. We are told that recurring migraines after 30 or rheumatism after 60 are perfectly normal. Maybe we don't even remember what real health can look like. I think back to the times when I was a child and I didn't have worries (e.g. on vacation) or when spring time came. I felt so much energy inside me and the air smelled so different. I could do whatever I wanted (well, within reason 😁), I felt free. Maybe I didn't appreciate it at the time, but it's the closest memory I have of true health.
Health is not about feeling "okay". Health is when you want to get up early in the morning because you can't wait for your day to start. You have a lot of ideas and creative energy, you give yourself time for everything. You are just you, 100%. You don't feel that you have any responsibilities, even if you work, it is in harmony with your soul, with what you really want deep down - perhaps work allows you to devote yourself to your passion. You don't need to prove anything to anyone, you accept yourself fully. You don't force yourself to do anything, and yet you eat healthy and spend time in nature, because you respect and understand your body so perfectly that you simply couldn't do otherwise.
Is something like this even possible nowadays? Under stress, dissatisfaction at work and at home, with responsibilities, loans, toxins in the air and food, vitamin deficiencies, etc.? Maybe it's time to ask ourselves - with love and gentleness - is the fault anywhere else than in ourselves - when, for example, we mindlessly turn on the TV and reheat leftover pizza after returning from our work in the office? "Everyone lives like that" is unfortunately just an excuse. Everyone is able to make a choice, even if it's only a choice of our attitude towards the situation which we find ourselves in. A whole lot depends on this first choice.
With this post, I would like to inspire you, even just a bit, to aim much higher than just "some" life. You are not here to suffer, so before you make any choice, stop for a moment and consider whether this choice supports your health? Is there anything you feel would be better for you? Don't be afraid to choose differently than before. Don't be afraid to listen to your intuition, even if it says strange things! Also, don't be hard on yourself when you can't choose otherwise, but take responsibility for this decision, make it consciously. And see, maybe a few such conscious, non-automated choices later you will be ready to change something.
Only you can give yourself health. There are many ways you can make it easier for yourself, but the basic condition is your willingness to see where you are making mistakes - where you are going against yourself. As with anything, the hardest part is just getting started.
