In this post I will explain a few key points about my Instagram series (unfortunately only in Polish for now!) on the New Bach Flower Therapies (NBFT for short). If you don't know what Edward Bach's Flower Therapy is, go here.
🌼 Who is tracks therapy for? How does it differ from the standard Bach Flower Therapy? Model of flower tracks facilitates the process of selecting flower essences for chronic, long-term problems. In acute cases or in children, basic Bach Therapy will usually be completely sufficient. NBFT is, as it were, its extension, which in no way contradicts Edward Bach's original assumptions, but enriches them with additional elements helpful in the treatment of civilization diseases common today, as well as for lovers of crystals and aromatherapy.
🎨 How to use colours? We can use colours for exposure using special lamps with filters, but also during meditation. You can visualize a colour in the appropriate zones on the body, designated by the Body Maps in NBFT Volume 2, but precise orientation is not absolutely necessary. Interestingly, the colour that is one of our favourites usually indicates an aspect that we are ready to work on. The shade that we least like indicates an aspect that we push aside and do not want to look at. So it's worth paying attention to our colour choices in everyday life - maybe even get over it and put on clothes in the one you don't really like? (I tested it and I recommend it!) It's important that the clothes are of a uniform shade - in this case, colourful patterns are not very effective.
🪐 How to use zodiac signs? It's worth generating an astrological profile according to the Koch system and looking primarily at the zodiac signs of our Moon and Ascendant. Very often, the paths of these specific signs are important for our therapy, although of course there are deviations from this rule. It's especially worth paying attention to the presence of Sagittarius, i.e. the path of Agrimony, because this particular path can be very difficult to diagnose.
☯️ What does meridian connection mean? Traditional Chinese Medicine describes 12 main meridians. The creator of NBFT, Dietmar Krämer, managed to assign one of these meridians to each track. This is an amazing discovery and extremely useful for those who practice acupuncture or qigong - because it means that we can also work with each path from the meridian level. 💪 You can read more about this topic in the 3rd volume of NBFT, which is to be translated into English at the end of this year.
💎 How to use gemstones? It turns out that the action of gemstones is interchangeable with the action of a given Bach Flower - however, crystals act on the mental level (see the table above - sorry, I intend to translate it in the future!), which is an even more subtle level than the emotional level. Therefore, it's worth including them in therapy, and in some cases, working with stones may be sufficient for our needs (depending on the location of our blockages). Gemstone therapy can take many forms, the most popular and simplest is keeping a cleansed crystal in your pocket, but also placing it for 15-30 minutes on the corresponding zone designated by Body Maps (the best zones will be the torso). It's definitely not advisable to keep stones close to your body while sleeping (!).
💧 How to use essential oils? The selected oil can be added to a bath or cosmetics, and also added to massage oils (it is worth massaging the zones designated by the Maps). It will then act on various levels, including the physical one, but this carries a risk of an allergic reaction or an overdose. Therefore, the safest way to use them is in a diffuser or a water burner, and personal inhalers are also a great solution, which you can buy e.g. at Aromatherapy Oils. Oils, like stones, have the same effect as the essences matched to them and work at the same level as them (table). We always use them individually, i.e. we do not mix them with other essential oils (!), as this would change their effect.
🌿 Can I then use essential oils instead of flower essences? Basically yes - although I'm not sure if they would be equally effective (I haven't tested them separately). However, using larger number of oils would be somewhat problematic, while mixing up to 7 flower essences is not a problem at all. Additionally, flower essences will be safer when used on the skin, in the form of compresses or as an addition to cosmetics.
▶️ Okay, but where to start? We start by taking an honest look at our emotional tendencies, including those that appeared in the past with a chronic problem. We then match the essences in the order: 1. Outer Flowers, 2. Decompensation Flowers (which are essentially the most superficial problem because they "cover up" the states of Compensation and Communication), 3. Compensation Flowers, 4. Communication Flowers. We can also include the Base Flower in later potions. We don't use more than one Flower from the same track and don't exceed the amount of 7 essences in one composition. Working with colours, stones and oils matched to the most intense states will help make the therapy much faster and more enjoyable!
If you have any questions, I will be happy to share my theoretical knowledge and own experience, and in the near future I plan to offer help as a therapist of this method. Feel free to comment! 🤍
